Inaprubahan na ng House of Representatives ang isang panukalang batas na naglalayong bigyan ng provisional franchise ang ABS-CBN corp. hanggang Oktobre ngayong taon.
Ayon kay Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano, sa panahon ngayon na dumadaan ang bansa sa isang malaking krisis at kinakailangan maihatid sa tao ang mga mahahalang impormasyon, kasabay narin sa pag-issue ng provisional franchise ay ang pagtalakay sa kontobersyal na aplikasyon ng kapamilya network sa bagong prankisa nito.
“The non-renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise will result in the loss of thousands of jobs as the network has over 11,017 employees including its artists, independent contractors, suppliers, and content creators who are spread out in ABS-CBN’s information and entertainment group of companies,” saad ng panukalang bill.
Dagdag pa nito, Isa raw ang ABS-CBN sa pinakamalaking network sa boung bansa. Kung kaya't ang pagtigil operasyon nito ay magdudulot ng paghina sa advertising industry sa bansa na maalalang namuhunan ito ng P151-bilyong negosyo nito sa TV.
Saad pa ng mga senador, magandang aksyon daw ito para mabigyan naman ang sambayanan ng maasahang panggagalingan ng mga impormasyon lalo na sa panahon ngayon at entertainment at upang matalakay sa kongreso kong karapat-dapat ba itong bigyan ng parnkisa ang nasabing network.
“Indeed, in the face of all the challenges brought by the COVID-19 virus, the government must do all it can to ease the burdens faced by its people,” lahag ng panukalang bill.

If I were to be ask, ni renewal of franchise in the sense that it violated many laws in broadcasting industry. Just like the test broadcast, they are not allowed to charge a pay per view because its only a test broadcast. As per madame tamano, abs CBN has more that 9 million subscribers at 3,500pesos per month that amounts to billions of pesos. The BIR ,congressmen, senators, and all Filipinos are all blind to these anomalies of this giant corp. We will be always at the mercy if this abs CBN despite of his unfair labor practice which until now, ni decision yet. Justice delayed, justice denied. The lopezes cud afford to give grease money to anybody. Many had enrich themselves at the expense of the low paid employees. There is no security of employment here. When you're no productive they will just kickyou out. The big question is why sss,philhealth,employees compensation doesn't file a case on behalf if the employees. You sss,phill health,ec do your job. Compel this oligarchs to pay the benefits of the employees. Are you blind or no read , no write or. No hear. Time come you will have karma same with you congressmen,senators, and etc. Have just read in you tube that there are newly bath artists going at the penthouse for something. Wow, time for whistleblowers to post in fb thru fake accounts. Will comment again when time permits. Thank you. Mayaman mga congressmen even pandemic is one year. Lucky are those who receive blessings from specific VIP. This is a test for president duterte for how far his conscience or maybe God had lighted his instincts.
